Just steps away room Tasso Square. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff.
They offer a wonderful breakfast from 7 to 10. Our tour group was suppose to stay here. But ended up changing hotels. As I came out a few days prior to the hotel I ended up staying here. I am glad I did.
We arrived at the hotel during a heavy downpour,and as there wasn't a sheltered coach bay, we got wet. Once in our room, I wanted to put the heating on to get warm.
Only cool AC was in function, and on calling reception, they informed me that in October, heating is not provided. I therfore asked for a quilt and was given one immediately.
On the second day, no soap was provided, and we had to make do with some samples I had brought with me.
There was no kettle in the room, and the mini bar had old mouldy butter somebody must have left behind.
On our last day, the light bulb went out, but I did not bother report because I was quite annoyed by then.
Breakfast was good and quite varied, and that's a positive.
Reception personnel helpful, english speaking and friendly.
The location is very central and within reach to the heart of Sorrento.
There were no tea/coffee-making facilities in our room which we found quite surprising. Reception said they had never offered this facility. In a 4-star hotel? Breakfast was scrambled egg as the only hot food on offer. Fruit, pastries, bread was offered but seemed like an easy option for the hotel. It was November last year when we stayed and I have been meaning to write this review. I accept that perhaps the hotel was 'winding down' but ourselves and other guests were staying and I believe we were not catered-for at all. Also, our room was cold (I know it was November, but we have stayed in two previous Sorrento hotels in November and we were not cold at either). We wouldn't stay at this hotel again.
Pros: The hotel has a great location, the room was recently renovated. The staff was friendly.
Cons:
1. We used a pickup / transfer from the airport arranged from the hotel. The diver was a charlatan. As our flight was delayed he told us we owe more money then originally informed. We paid, he did not give a receipt and when I asked from the hotel for one, the driver / company claimed we paid 40 EUR less then we actually did. The driver asked for 240 EUR and claimed after that we only paid him 200 EUR and did not issue us an invoice for the full amount.
2. The wall between the bathroom and the room was glass, so was not very appropriate as everything was visible and when you put the bathroom light on the whole room was bright
We stayed 21/10-28/10/23. What a strange experience. The food we had was ok but nothing to write home about. The service was great in the restaurant and the bar was great the first few nights but then the girl that was on had her days off and a miserable guy was on the bar and spoiled the nights and atmosphere. The drinks were overpriced for the area. Max on reception was amazing making a fuss of my daughter every day and the rest of the reception were ok nothing great but ok. The food options were mediocre for the area.
The hotel is fabulously located- close to the town. However, the rooms and bathrooms are quite tired and old- fashioned. No place to put toiletries in the shower and the cleaning staff didn’t do a great job.
Having said that, the reception team was superb - especially, Marianna, Seby and Max and the staff at the rooftop bar - Maria and Mike. Thank you to you all for making our stay memorable and fun.
Hard to rate: Large, spacious room was nice to spread out, but rooms on main Street through/around town so LOTS of road noise all night. Great for walking into town but LOTS of road noise. Beautiful rooftop and gardens but LOTS of noise.
Recommendation trying rooftop restaurant as well.
We had the greatest experience at the hotel. Our room was ready ahead of time. We got to the hotel to celebrate and got upgraded without even asking. The best thing about our stay was the staff, especially Marianna and Valentina who made us feel comfortable, gave us tips and provided all out inquiries at a short time.
The room was big, clean and great with a beautiful view. Thank you very much!!
